1. Information you provide to us
When you join our Scout group, your original handwritten joining form is stored locally. We may, depending on our operating procedure at the time, later copy the information from the joining form onto an electronic database. This information will be stored locally and privately by the leader of your respective section. Under no circumstances do we disseminate personal information. Hard files are kept under lock and key and are marked private and confidential.
2. Personal information and this website
No personal information is stored on this website. No names are stored. Digital images of participants in group activities may be used at the discretion of the Webmaster. When joining the group, the use of web-based imagery is covered in the Parent or Guardian’s declaration. If you wish for your child’s image to be removed from this website, please contact the Webmaster and mark your message ‘Urgent’ detailing your request. This will be actioned within 48 hours. You will need to later provide a new registration form with an edited declaration.
Personal information that you input into our contact forms are stored on a secure email server and are only accessible by the intended recipient. The group pays for this service as part of our website hosting and cannot hold any responsibility for emails being intercepted or interpreted. We recommended that you use an email client that uses a level of encryption.
3. Online data collection
This website has no functionality that collects personal data. This website outlinks to Online Scout Manager, a portal which DOES utilise personal information to assist leaders in management of the group. Any personal data inputted into that website is not the responsibility of 19th Swindon Scout Group.
19th Swindon Scout Group are a not-for-profit organisation and our website is funded by participant donations. We do not and will not utilise web advertising.
