The 19th Swindon is one of the oldest cub groups in North Wiltshire and have been providing the local community with an active Scout group since 1956.
19th Swindon is an amalgamation of two groups, that is 19th Swindon and 1st Walcot, the later being the slightly older group, forming in 1957 when the Walcot area of Swindon was being built. First meeting out of the local Junior school, they quickly grew with the influx to the area of young families.
When you look at these images of the past 50 years, you can see Scouting has changed very little in terms of the traditional outdoor activities. Scouts still camp, play sports, orienteer and try out many new activities.
